I for one don't like the sticky for craigs list items. As far as I can tell there is no attempt to make sure other posts are placed in appropriate locations. What about squirrels, auto repairs, fix my computer posts and all the other completely off topic posts that are posted here on a regular basis.
As a person who shops for used equipment I find most of the comments on these postings useful, helpful, and interesting. If you don't like them don't read them.
BTW: I've spent thousands of dollars for new stuff from Shopsmith.
