Kreg's problem is their instructions are for an infinite number of saws, Shopsmith also is dealing with several different tables. My table had been upgraded twice, once from cast iron to aluminum and then to add the older Shopsmith bandsaw accessorries (circle cutter...). Sometime during the upgrades the holes were tapped. Also the Kreg Fence is designed to hold the micro-adjuster and on the Shopsmith bandsaw (only) it causes the front rail to stick out far to the left making the installation look wrong.

The bolts don't look that different from ordinary ones and form the threads as you screw them in. Cast aluminum is soft stuff. The holes are blind so there is no need for a nut. You do need to make sure the bolt is going in straight.
The instructions aren't the greatest but if you take your time, read carefully, and look at the pictures it is all there. This fence looks to be a great gadget and I'm looking forward to doing some serious resawing.
