I was thinking yesterday afternoon, and this is just my thoughts here, about about what lead up to this whole situation. Here goes, I am new here, and a chatty person with a strange sense of humor. I love this forum and all here, still cursing my nephew who I helped carry his 54 greenie he bought last fall and helped him carry it into the basement in Jan, if you know what I mean.
I have hijacked threads, chatted with JPG with humorous banter on threads and in my SS enthusiasm/addiction, have, in hind sight, posted too many CL deals here. So I was reflecting yesterday PM about what role, responsibility and guilt I have here.
Dusty had/has every right to express his opinion about it, right or wrong, and the members would, by expression, would agree or disagree with him. I sense most that expressed there opinions disagreed. Some good came out of it as I see it. Someone got a area in "The Community" for what he was partially upset about and I took note of my behavior here and what is acceptable.
With that, I would not want Dusty to leave here, he has/had too much to contribute and share. I would not want him to feel uncomfortable about posting or expressing his opinions about something either. Any more than I would.
In the future I will try and control myself better in threads and stay more on subject, within the trend of the treads direction it is going.
With that all said, lets let a dog lay.

There have been a small number of 'members' that have stomped off in a huff.(one that I know of). The huffiness was caused by 'differing opinion'.

I refer to that as 'taking my ball and going home'.

When that happens all lose!

Right or wrong(subject to judgmental critique) IMHO everyone here has freedom to express their view of things.

Some of us are less 'serious' than others and sometimes cause anguish to those more serious. Those of us less serious mean no harm nor intend to create that anguish. Those of us less serious are compassionate towards those more serious, but up to a point where it might become inhibitive. That point is also subject to opinion.

As for 'hi-jacking', I have a high tolerance for that. Again subject to opinion.

Where 'we' get into trouble is when we delve into 'name calling' and other less desirable 'behavior'. That being a personality 'trait' gets one in trouble, but tis being true to thy self. Seldom is that appreciated by others though.

So be thyself, but do so while being thoughtful of others. That might help prevent hoof and mouth disease.

I dislike getting serious about this.:D

By all means name calling is not only distasteful, but really makes some of us extremely angry! The last time this happened to me it took several days to get over it - even with an apology. (bit tongue and fingers for a while) A little time passed and I can now wholeheartedly accept the apology and let things pass. Until next time........

P.S. The ignore function worked well for a few days.
