If the Senator was doing his real job, he would not have time to worry about those who are employing inversion tactics. In fact, if the House and Senate were together doing their real jobs there would be no need to employ inversion tactics.

The House and Senate would do well to concentrate on employment, education and national defense (not necessarily in that order).

Agree Dusty! Couldn't have said it better. More power to BK if they can lower their taxes legally.

Are you registered to vote in November? I sure hope so. I'd like for this to be the largest turn out for a midterm election in all of history.

I'll not boycott BK.
I just hope they bring those great coffee&donut shops to the US.

In stead of calling for a boycott, he should be saying " What can we do to keep them here"!!!! It should be a wake up call on taxes for US businesses!!! I have not poured my coffee yet, so brain is not up to functional yet, or at least the best it can be. Who is the Sen and political affiliation???

While inversion is a real issue in some cases, taxes don't seem to be a major driver of this deal, at least according to Burger King CEO David Schwartz, who says in the linked article that BK expect no meaningful tax savings. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStor ... b-25125690 BK's actual tax rate is already about where Canada's is.

This one appears to be about getting a bigger share of the breakfast/coffee market.

I don't know. I am neither an accountant nor a lawyer. All that I know for sure is that BK is not planning to lose anything by doing this. They expect some favorable financial impact somehow/somewhere and I do not begrudge them of that.

What irritates me is that your Government can not see fit to conduct a thorough review of the existing tax structure and make those changes that might make the US competitive on the global market again.

I must NOW re-invoke a pledge that I made a year ago. I'll make no more political or religious comments on the forum other than to say again - VOTE in November.

Nothing political about wanting America to be a good place to do business.
