Band saw offset mounting tubes

I have found that you don't need them (at least for the 510--I still need to assemble my 500 to see if you would need them for that version).

Again, on the 510, all that is necessary is to (and it is so simple) tilt the band saw table to 45 degrees and it will be out of the way enough to raise your motor into the vertical mode for the drill press. You may need to realign your existing band saw mounting tubes as they do have a slight offset. Just set the offset as far away (towards your left when facing the machine), shift the band saw towards the front or back as necessary to line up the band saw spindle horizontally with the motor, lock down the tubes then raise the band saw to align vertically with the motor spindle and tighten down the allen screws to finalize the adjustment (see mounting instructions in your manual if you have one).

You are correct. It is a tight fit but you can squeak by if you do as you say. This has become a non-issue for folks with the new Mark 7 or the double tilt upgrade; with those you've got to remove any and every SPT before going vertical.
