What do you guys do with your sawdust collected by he dust collector? The DC 3000 is just about 2/3's full. I hate to put it in the landfill? Compost?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry! Having nowhere else to put the sawdust, it winds up in the landfill.

I have a two acre woodlot that gets most of mine.i also have family members with livestock that also gladly take some. You might try selling it by the bag full at a farmer's market.

I don't have a dust collector, but I sweep up a couple of buckets of sawdust from my workshop floor each winter. I save it and dump it around the fruit trees in my orchard for mulch.

Mine goes into our outdoor wood stove and some in my shop for oil on the floor. If I have some left like in the summer a friend of ours has chickens and I give it to her

Sawdust can be used as a mulch, BUT NOT NEAR THE HOUSE!!
It's like predigested food for termites.
Be careful of disposing sawdust from manufactured wood products such as plywood, oriented strand board or particle board. The adhesives and resins in those may not be good for the plants or kids and pets.

OK, thanks guys. We have about 4 acres, right in the middle of town (small about 5000 population). I have an Ag background as I was raised on a cattle ranch, farm and apple orchard (that was a long time ago), but other than landscaping (which our landscaping produces a lot of organic material) I don't need more mulch ... LOL. I have a few areas that are always weed problems, I will experiment with it there as mulch ....

I was just hoping someone would know how to make battleships or F16's or something with this stuff ..... :D

I have the same problem, what to do with it. My yard waste pick-up doesn't want it because it's "PROCESSED".

Did you know that during WWll, the Navy experimented with making a carrier from sawdust and Ice? They actually built a 3/4 version just before the end of the war. It was impervious to torpedoes and bombs. Stronger than steel.
