Whipped this out this week

fiinshing takes more time then the machining!!! I know you "senior guys" could and whould have came up with something better then the Thumb Screws, I was thinking a sliding dovetail, one of my favorites!!!
So what all wood was used here??

Oak(white?), cherry(Maple? if stained), and Walnut.
And the long slots? 10 E tailstock mount? Nev mind, I missed the thumb screw!
Looks nice to me and functional!

Good eye on most GG, top is cherry, support is walnut but the back/vertical is grey elm, 2.30 brd ft. Never used it B4, made a drawer front for one of the 10s lower area, this was left over. Machines like ash but a bit softer, looks like red oak a bit, with open pores, but not as open as oak, and the different grain growth. All pieces were just wiped with a 50/50 mix of BLO and mineral spirits. Pops the grain, then a few coats of shellac.
Did not understand the comment on the slots to 10 relationship though. I put them in for a little design thing.

Got it!! I will have to see if it fits??? It would be dumb luck if they are spaced right!!

The 'elm' was my least sure guess. The grain was not quite 'right' for oak. I almost guessed ash. They are all close.

GG, you got that right too, I bought that elm for a drawer front on an ER lower drawer front, and one for another Er that was ash, dyed, some, pics, as you love and request to follow, but that elm you saw was a bit "blotchy". Off here for a bit to let my rep settle, get some typing skills, and hunten!!!
