Looks good! Do you drill the cross holes and then turn, or turn and then drill? The edges look really clean.ChrisNeilan wrote:Had a nice day in the shop. Baker's dozen of ornamenta birdhouses (upside down in the photo!). Making the roofs tomorrow.
I thought they must be really small.ChrisNeilan wrote:They're for little craft birds.... Just decorative! They're about 1 1/2 to 2 inches tall:)
I drill first, then turn... That is if I remember to....BuckeyeDennis wrote:Looks good! Do you drill the cross holes and then turn, or turn and then drill? The edges look really clean.
I have been using Behlen Solar-Lux Stain (a dye)... But I just got back from Woodcraft with some TransTint to try. I'm going to first try it mixed with water...algale wrote:Nice. I like the finish too. What are you using to get the colors? I would guess TransTint Liquid Dyes?
I think you will like them. I've used them with alcohol and water and as a tint with shellac. Preferred alcohol.ChrisNeilan wrote:I have been using Behlen Solar-Lux Stain (a dye)... But I just got back from Woodcraft with some TransTint to try. I'm going to first try it mixed with water...
