Had a nice day in the shop. Baker's dozen of ornamenta birdhouses (upside down in the photo!). Making the roofs tomorrow.

Nice job, what kind of bird are the for? Be sure to post when finished with top.

They're for little craft birds.... Just decorative! They're about 1 1/2 to 2 inches tall:)

Nice. I like the finish too. What are you using to get the colors? I would guess TransTint Liquid Dyes?

Looks good! Do you drill the cross holes and then turn, or turn and then drill? The edges look really clean.

I drill first, then turn... That is if I remember to....

I have been using Behlen Solar-Lux Stain (a dye)... But I just got back from Woodcraft with some TransTint to try. I'm going to first try it mixed with water...

I think you will like them. I've used them with alcohol and water and as a tint with shellac. Preferred alcohol.

I have been using Behlen Solar-Lux Stain (a dye)... But I just got back from Woodcraft with some TransTint to try. I'm going to first try it mixed with water...
