is there a greenie repairman in birmingham

I need help. just got mark 5 and used it a day and got wood stuck in band saw and broke my gilmer belt. I got a new one and it came with instructions how to replace, but I need help. anybody in b'ham al that can help? tim

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about your dilemma.

If you could state your problem(s) in a bit more detail and maybe include a couple pictures I would bet that we can help you. This is what this forum does best.

Hi Tim and welcome. When you replace the Gilmer belt be sure to check the clutch mechanism on the drive sleeve. The clutch is supposed to release in order to save the Gilmer belt in case of a jam. Some early units had the clutch and others did not so check yours. Bill Mayo who is on this forum has the knowledge and the tooling to set the clutch to the proper standards.
There is also a tutorial on this forum somewhere that guides us how to make the adjustments.
