Today in the computer room (rebuild)

Perhaps the today is a bit of a misnomer, it has been an on going effort for a while.
My OS has gone off the deep end in certain areas and I have not been able to repair it. While it seems to work for most things it has issues with installing updates and certain program updates and worse yet driver updates. As an example new audio drives came out but the install went off to no-where's-ville leaving the system without audio. After a half dozen attempts to fix things I gave up. Updates would come in and the machine would start them and hang.
Restores, well, lets just say that was time spent going no where. Tried the normal rebuilt which would go about 90% then say it experienced an error and would now remove itself. Attempting to do a rebuild would not even worked??? Spent hours reading error reports and fixing what I could but it came to the point that starting over was the only solution.
I'd been saving this work for my days of medical restrictions so a few days ago I gave it one more gallant attempt to repair the system. I was able to get something working better but when upgrade Tuesday came along none of the updates would install. I could not find anyway to work around the issues anymore so I got a new and larger and faster SSD and started to make a new system.
Things are going along pretty well but I have a LOT of programs, and I customize a lot so downloading and installing the newest versions and recovering licenses has been keeping me busy. I'd say the process is less then half done. The good news is this older system is still working and by having access to both systems is allowing me to monitor the outside world, have to swap which disk is under power to do it but it works this way.
So in case anyone was wondering what is up with me not being here it is my computers health that has effected that, not my own health.
Going to spend today catching up on events here then be off for a few more days of making the new system.
