Didn't even know what one is! Now that I am about to learn how to use a bowl gouge, doubt that there will be one in my shop for a while.

You will find that the Shopsmith is underpowered for that. Might work with the power pro. You really need an honest 2 horsepower for that to work well. I'm thinking of getting one for my big Powermatic. I turned a 16 inch bowl on that last night, and if I had the easy core I could have had three bowls from one blank. That was a $50 blank...

(You also want low rpm's when coring a bowl...)
