Lots of neat wood, there. What kind of tree is it? Is it yours? I'd guess if the burls were taken, the tree wouldn't survive. Then you'd have MORE wood.

High to day here in N. AZ was 45º. Tonight it's supposed to be low of 22º and a high tomorrow of 57º.

Not my tree -- it's in a yard that I pass by on the way to lunch some days. Judging from the leaves, it's some sort of maple. They have long skinny lobes, but it's not a silver maple. I suspect that it's not native to the area.

We're still feeling the effects of typhoon Nuri here - it's supposed to reach the mid 40's tomorrow, and there is no snow left on the ground here in Anchorage. It was warmer in Barrow yesterday than in a lot of the midwest.

Since it can snow here from September through May, I'm just hoping to lengthen the snow free period.

Here's some good news on the Evaporust front. Advance Auto Parts now carries it. I just picked up a gallon at my local store for $23 plus tax.

If you're not in a hurry, Amazon now sells it also. Their price for a gallon is $19.54, with free shipping on orders over $35.

My first gallon gave up the ghost after a couple years and many rusty parts. The vintage Stanley 2358 miter box below, and its Disston 28" backsaw, finally did it in. :(

Thanks for the heads up Dennis. BTW, if you're an Amazon Prime member, 2 day shipping is free on just one gallon.
