Implies future posting of videos without passing through youtube may be coming!!!
But then we lose the exposure 'over there'!(not if they are put both places!!)

Maintaining a presence on uTube is totally unimportant to me. I consider being able to do this here on the forum would be totally "up town".
However, I do not believe this will come to those of us who do not have a web server. If I am not mistaken the bbcode tag must surround an existing url. Now that url could be the uTube url for a video that resides there.

Yes, the new tag is setup for posting videos that exist on youtube, only.
Hosting decent resolution videos here, would require higher bandwidth and a content distribution network to properly serve them (a CDN hosts the videos on multiple servers in multiple places so that they are close on the network to everyone -- Google/Youtube is very good at that, we aren't).
For now, I have enabled the new tag to see if any problems arise (doesn't look like it can open any new spam approaches, but spammers are clever). Also, I'm verifying that it doesn't mess up formatting for anyone. If all works well, it could be useful in some topics, like the recent one on wood threading.
To use the new tag, click the youtube button when creating a post. Then paste your youtube link between the two youtube tags created by the button. The forum software will pull the video id out of the link and put it into a format the forum software uses.

I don't have any worthy utube videos but I do have some. This is one of them.
I pulled the video because it gave a false impression of performance that I had not noticed before.
BTW: After some period of time (I don't know how long) you can no longer delete an entire post but you can edit it as I just did. Maybe the option was deleted as a result of someone viewing or commenting on the post (which was done).

OK guys. You see what I put in on the post that shows mine did not work. What did you do different?
