The finished vase

Well it is time to finish off several projects. First was the vase which I think I had initial shots on a previous post. This is the finished product ready to box up. It is a wedding present for friends who are having a traditional Indian wedding. The challenge was to create a vase that had design elements that were consistent with Indian pottery etc. The brass inlay I thought was in keeping with the theme. It was turned in three sections and then the three segments joined to create the vase. This allowed for the hollowing out. It is actually quite light in weight. The woods are Paduak, Peruvian walnut and maple. The finish is about 12 coats of Watco. Hope you like it.
