Anybody make any?
I did and promptly forgot them. I think some of them were good, too.

I have learned that if I make any I will break them. I made a resolution that I was going to remain in good physical condition, like I was when I was on active duty. Had I done that, I would still be able to run the 1/4 mile in record time. Now, as it is, I can't walk a 1/4 mile let alone run it.

I always resolve to not make any New Years resolutions that I can't keep.
Works every year

Had you done that, you might not have been with us today!
I too am beginning to feel lack of exercise! Old jarheads do not like that!!!

Exercise?? Does lifting my coffee cup count. No? Well then, how about scooping ice cream into a bowl?
Hey, our freezer gets it hard!

For the last few years, I've made one that is a decent
one, and also impossible to keep.
My New Year's resolution, is to not make New Year's
resolutions.
In theory, it works OK, until you think it through.

Four years ago I made my one and only resolution ever. I resolved not to watch, listen to, or read any international, national, regional, or even local news. It is the second best decision I ever made.

Exercise???
I have a theory when we are born we are assigned a certian number of foot steps. We can use them any way we want but when we use the last one we die.
I have resolved to not waste any of my foot steps walking or running to get into shape.
All those that walk or run to stay in shape run the chance of dying early with a well exercised body.
Not me!
I'm saving steps. That is why I trained the dog to get the TV remote control.

I don't do resolutions at the New Year but I do make a few during the year and try my best to keep them. If it really important to me then I go for it and for the most part I find that soon the benefits out way the efforts.
As an example, back in the spring of 2012 I found myself tipping the scale at a new record [edit:330 was a typo] 230 pounds. Most of my younger life I had been a pretty normal weight but setting at a desk and lack of free time took there toll. I was at about 188 pounds for a long while until I hurt my back. With in a year or two it was more like 210, pretty massively over weight for me.... add a couple more years and well there I was a 230 pounds.
I didn't like how I looked and didn't feel like doing things like I use to. I had been in 38" jeans and just started buying 40" and I said enough is enough with this situation.
I did some research and made a resolution to start dropping weight. The plan was to make the weight loss in steps with goals that I though I could make. The first phase was to loose 20 pounds by the winter and keep it off until spring. Went from the 230 down to 210. My starting point was 210 in the spring of 2013.
Again the effort was to go from 210 to 190 by the fall. Made that by the end of summer. I kept this weight until winter when I started at the 190 and made it to 170 by spring (2014). My goal was to reach 160 pounds which I'm working on now, only a couple of pounds to go.
I now wear size 34 jeans, have a bit of extra skin around the middle so the fate of being over sized lives on but with almost 70 pounds gone I still feel good about it. Of course what once was toned muscle is now flab but that is one of the things that happens as you age.
Yes weight loss is possible, no it is not easy and I know I might laps back so I have to keep watching what I eat, how much and keep walking. Most people can do, so if you want to now might be a good time.
