I have an extra headstock V, I thought about mounting on dedicated stand with bandsaw. The only stands I find are already equipped with motor. Would I be better off selling the head and purchase what SS has or does such a stand exist?

If I had an "extra" headstock that I wanted to put into service, I would build a dedicated Shorty (or a "Mini") depending on what functionality was needed in the shop. You have stated that you want (need) a bandsaw. To satisfy that requirement, all you would need is a "Mini". If this was your choice, be aware that what you would be building does not support the use of a carriage thus no "main table".

The Shop Deputy would be a very versatile way to utilize your headstock while leaving you with several expansion future options.

A mini(or shorty) is a Mark 5/V/7 base with truncated way and bench tubes.

YOU truncate the tubes.

Or buy the base from someone who has.

If you are near San Diego I think I know of a 'source'.

If not, they appear on E-bay often.

This is the majority of what you would need to mount your headstock for use as a power station for your bandsaw
