Something for the future: Order Process

Howdy,

Shopsmith could significantly improve the order process by sending a copy of customer's orders via email, whether placed via the website, email, phone, or Traveling Academy.

The order email would serve several purposes including order confirmation, validation. and order number conveyance.

I ordered a book from Amazon.com tonight, just a few minutes after checking the status of a Shopsmith order, and it occured to me that in the future, when Shopsmith gets ready to upgrade its order process, this might be a useful suggestion.

Best Regards,
mike

They send you an order confirmation via e-mail now when placing an order on the web. Do they have your correct e-mail address?

Howdy,

This was just a suggestion for future process upgrades to receive an email message vs having to go to a webpage.

I think Shopsmith customer service is excellent as it is.

Best Regards,
mike

Again, They do send you a confirmation to your e-mail. No need to visit a web page. Guess I do not understand why you do not receive an e-mail after an order is placed on the web. Now, you may not get a confirmation if you order on the phone, That I don't know.

I ordered three small items last week by phone but did not receive an e mail confirmation.

But I received the order in 2 days.

Great service!

Howdy,

The point of my message was that all orders, no matter how placed, should be treated the same way.

Best Regards,
mike

I like the idea of Emailed order notification. It is truly a fine way of saying thank you Mr. Client your business is appreciated. On the other hand a place a much higher premium on the excellent customer service we receive from Shopsmith. If there are limited dollars available for customer appreciation services I vote for the current level of real live customer service. I rather suspect that at some point in the future Shopsmith will be able to invest in an order processing system that automattically includes order notification.

Until then I am truly thankful for real live customer service. Jim:)

In this day and age software is available to take care of that sort of mundane task. If they enter an order, no matter how it is taken, into a computer, the work is really done.

I've heard it said that the Shopsmith software is not real state of the art but.....

Monday I called and ordered, before the price change, I asked to have an email confirmation and he said sure. Still waiting.
The funny thing about it is that I don't mind. I can be merciless with the impersonal organizations and demand attention, etc. With SS, it just seems like "folks". And I like that. But 'Frisco is right, they really should have a better automated system, as he read my email address back to me!

Something must be wrong because every time I order they ask me for my e-mail address where I want my confirmation sent. It has always appeared shortly after I hang up. I then get another message a day or two later telling my order has been packaged and shipped with a tracking number included.

I thought the whole process was super. Now I'm hearing that isn't the way it works for everybody??????????
