PowerPro -- which headstock?

I have the PowerPro upgrade on order. My 520 is an upgraded 1986 model with a fresh set of bearings in the motor, and a dual bearing quill. Basically works like new.
I was thinking of getting a "junk" Shopsmith and moving my current "guts" to it as a second platform. However, I stumbled upon a 1958 Greenie which the owner tells me is in great condition. My though was that it might make more sense to put the powerpro in the greenie because it lacks the access port under the name plate, and overall reduce the amount of work that needs to be done.
For those more familiar with the older headstocks, does this sound reasonable?
PS: 1958 kinda resonates with me since I was made the same year.
