I just finished installing the new casters . They are really worth the time and money. I had to redo my under Shopsmith storage due to height of new casters, my foot would not fit in to raise. My question, do you guys with new casters, leave the machine setting while not used with the casters adjusted at lowest point with machine on ground or not. seems that with my old casters I could feel a flat spot on them when I moved it after I would leave it sitting in the raised position. Just checking with you guys. Thanks Ron

I do not leave weight on the wheels. If I am not moving it, I retract the casters and let the legs support the weight. No particular reason; that is just what I do.

I seriously doubt that leaving weight on the wheels will create a flat spot.

I have stored my shopsmith both with the casters in the down position as well as with them up. I have not experienced any flat spot on my casters wheels.

My machine is stored in a corner of the garage and is generally up on the wheels. I have not noticed any indication of any flat spots on the new casters in the 6 months that they have been on.
Be careful when you move the machine!! don't let go after you push it unless it is completely stopped. A friend of mine gave his a little push to his and when he let go it kept going and dinged his car.

Thanks for your replies. I do plan on lowering the machine after each move. I really do like the smoothest moving casters that I just installed. thanks ,Ron ,"bell head"
