Looking for the capacitor infro for the motor on a SawSmith 2000. A neighbor has recently brought a SawSmith 2000 that the motor capacitor was missing. Thanks.

Thanks. That appears to be the same capacitor as used on many of the Mark V motors.

Finally saw the 2000 1 1/4 HP motor today. It is hard to believe that anyone would put an open face motor inside a saw cabinet. No wonder sawdust does bad things to this motor. I was unsuccessful in getting the motor to operate. I swapped the start relay for one from the 3/4 HP motors. I even connected the capacitor and start winding to the power bypassing the start relay. Only humming from the motor. The start winding had 15 ohms resistance about twice what I see in other motors. The run windings was only .5 ohms, half what I see in other motors. I did like the centrifugal motor brake, first I seen on an electric motor. This motor is only 4.5" wide and fits between 2 columns. All motors I have are 6" and more in width so doubt if any replacement can be found. It appears this motor operates CCW where the Mark V motors are CW rotation. Does anyone know of a replacement motor for the Shopsmith 2000? Thanks.

I don't know of a source but I purchased a spare motor off eBay a few years ago as a back-up... There is no manufacturer's name listed, only a model number, C48KS-325. It is listed as 1 1/4 Hp.
