Linda is retiring

Linda, at Shopsmith Customer Service, has helped me many time over the years. Sadly for us customers, she is retiring at the end of February. I just happened to find out when talking with her today. She started at Shopsmith at 18 and has been there 37 years. But she said she will not sit at home - too many other things to do.

We talk about more than Shopsmith because her Uncle used to live in Huntington Beach and write a column for the local newspaper. I read him every week and he seemed like a kindred soul. Unfortunately, he, too, has retired and moved back to the midWest.

Good for her! A loss for us, for sure.

She will be sorely missed!!!!!!
She helped me solve more than a few problems and I totally trusted her knowledge of the correct item I needed.
The best to Linda and I hope she has a long and very enjoyable retirement!!!!

She will certainly be missed not just by the users but more especially by Shopsmith.

Gad! Now the odds will increase from 1 in three to 1 in two as to getting 'him'.

I also wish her the best. I dare say she has helped almost all of us.

Wanna see Linda's picture? If you do, go to the PowerPro DIY section from the Shopsmith home page. When you run the 3 minute video you can see the back of her head and shoulders as she works a computer.

We had a laugh about her photo. She said "yea that's me".

My oh my! I will really miss her help and joyful attitude. She could find a part and an individual price, even if it is not listed anywhere but in a kit.

Once, she even recognized my voice and said "hello Mr .... I thought that was you!"

May She be blessed throughout her retirement. :D :D

Might we make her retirement a more memorable event by chipping in to order something "special" as a retirement gift from the Forum Members? I'd gladly chip in if enough folks were willing.

Anyone got a direct line to Jim McCann to help us determine what a great gift would be for her?

Comments? Ideas? Willing participants? Send me a PM if interested and I'll report on totals on Monday.
I know the end of Feb is next week but if enough folks are interested we could arrange a gift presentation at "Shopsmith HQ"
sometime next month. It would still be a special thing for her.

If my PM mailbox is full please keep trying. I'll make an effort to clean it out each day.

This sounds like a good idea. You can count me in. She has helped me out more then once or twice.
