[Donated] Looking for ideal place to donate very old SS

My wife's father passed away about 18 years ago. In the process of moving her mother out of the house they lived in and into assisted living, we had to do something with his Shopsmith. Per Shopsmith, based on pictures that I sent, they estimate that it is a pre-1962 unit.

My wife does not want to take it to the dump, no does she want to give it away to just anybody that wants it. She would prefer to give it to someone who would actually be able to restore it and/or make use of it. If anyone on this forum is in the Dallas / Fort Worth area and could do exactly what I just described, please let me know. Her ownership of it is a way of maintaining his memory. She is only willing to let it go if she meets and knows who is taking it and for what reason. Please respond to this post or PM me if you are interested.

Scott:
This SS is not very old. I'm not very old and was in college when it was made. My son lives in Carrollton and might be willing to do this with coaching from me; however, since I'm retired and live in Oklahoma City I would be willing to drive to Dallas, bring it back and restore it. Then, either give it to him or donate it to someone here from one of the tech schools or other non-profits that teach woodcraft. PM me if this seems like a plan.

We have decided to donate this SS to a very nice gentleman from Lubbock, who intends to restore it, just as we were hoping for. Thank you to all you have viewed this thread.
