"Cut" at a 3-Axis-Adj. ReSaw guide

Hey Folks,

I was inspired by Nick's stacked featherboards (I should order more of those, I suppose).

I am no "jig specialist" by any means -- I usually try to get out some deliverable end-product every so often, so it appears I care about people outside the shop.

But here is my cut at imitating the Kreg Resaw Guide and adding the ability to adjust in all 3 axes. Especially the height-adjust was what was on my mind. I like to keep the upper blade-guide right above the workpiece if I can.

I haven't resawed with my gadget yet, but here's the idea:

Chris,
You just allowed me some extra sleep time. I have been running various designs thru my head attempting to solve the problem that you have in a simple and quite elegant manner.
Nice work and thanks,

Good idea. What did you cut the dovetail mortise with?

Thanks, folks, for the nice words!

I did resaw a 14" x 4" x 5/8" piece of walnut last night, and the guide worked pretty slick. Not only that, but my NEW DC3300 had just come in off of back-order, and I couldn't believe how nicely the bandsaw stayed clean, compared to my Shop-Vac days.

Bruce, for that dovetail slot, in the large piece of "found" poplar: I just made about 6 table-saw cuts to define the side & depth extents of the dovetail, then I cleaned out the material with a 1" chisel. For the 6 "stack" pieces, they were rough-cut on bandsaw and later pad-cut and pad-sanded once I had the dowel in place to keep the whole stack locked in the dovetail. (The stack as a combined unit rides tighter in the dovetail slot than the individual pieces do.)

Best Regards,
