10ER demo machine

I have a SS 10ER with a logo on the back side of the headstock. It is not one of the metal plates. It is either painted on or a decal. I asked over on Skips group a number of years ago about it and someone (I don't remember who) said it was a demo machine and that this was only the fourth machine that he had heard of with a painted logo.

Anyhow, anyone have any info? I have looked at the original 10ER documents I have and they all have a logo on the back side but they all appear to be screwed/riveted on. The first five issues of shavings show what appears to be non riveted logos but they don't have the white semicircles at the top and bottom where the rivets go.

The SN is 69356 which according to Skips list should be 1952.

I always taught it might be a decal just by some of what was left on the machine. The question is why would a consumer buyer/owner put it on their machine?

Has anyone ever seen a machine with this on it?
