Tontine Cabinet Part 4

The cabinet was fitted with LED 12 volt light strips. This picture shows the rabbet that was cut in the back of each cubby shelf to recess the strip.
I also ran a strip vertically behind the cognac bottle compartment to back light the bottle. All of the engraved shot glass will be back lighted.
All of the wire and transformer are stored behind the crown molding. You can also see the French cleat that will mount the cabinet to the wall. Additionally there will be a corbel at the base to help support the weight of the cabinet.
110v plug comes down the back and out the bottom.
I mounted the right door with the ANG, North Dakota, and 178th Fighter Squadron patches cut in red oak. I have a good friend, also a retired member of the 119th who is a scroll saw artist. Much thanks to Col Joan for her work.
On the left side two plaques will be mounted, also in red oak. They are being lazer cut. They will tell about the Unit's WSO history. I am waiting for their return.
On the inside of the door I framed a poem entitled "I Flew".
I finished the cabinet by first applying a paste wood filler. I then French polished it with orange shellack. I rubbed it down to a medium sheen.
That's my winter project that has kept me away from the Forum. It's been much fun.
