Admin, I be disgruntled.

Several times lately I have been logged off while creating lengthy posts. Realize that usually those posts are not created continuously at one sitting, but often include trips to the shop to verify 'stuff' and respond to other of life's interruptions.

I do not mind being logged off, but do get pissed off when all that has been created is dumped causing a need to do it all over.

I assume the 'inactivity' timer has been set to a lower threshold recently since it only recently has become a problem.

I wonder if creating a post is 'detected' activity by the inactivity 'monitor'.

Peace LLAP(Spock rest in peace).

We were running at the default of 7200 seconds. If I've found the right spot it is now 72,000 seconds.

Let me know if the problem recurs

For posts that will take significant time, I do recommend staging them in notepad or a word processor. Sometimes other factors can also cause a problem.

The one that most immediately comes to mind, is that every month or two it seems one of the updates requires a server reboot. Such is progress, I remember when servers had "uptimes" of over a year without reboot.

Staging?????? Then what? An attachment???

One of the things 'helpful' is the ability to refer back to previous posts in the thread. Wordpad would not allow that.

I think it is possible to scroll through a thread without being logged on.

BTW Where is last read data stored? 'User cookie' or forum?
