Looking for a part number 501246 or a bracket-worm for the mark 7. My husband just bought it used and it needs some help. This is what he needs to get the headstock up and going. Any ideas?

Is this a Mark VII that uses the plastic worm gear speed controller? The Mark 7 is the new Power Pro version and Shopsmith has all those parts available to them since it is a current production machine.
If it is a Mark VII, if I recall correctly, you can take off the plastic rack, and replace the headstock with a Mark V headstock from eBay etc. It would be long term more serviceable.
Does it look like this?

There is a PDF I put together in another post that he might find helpful to get bit of general information about where each version fits and what companies were involved at the time.

I cannot help but wonder WHY he needs one? Did it come missing it or did it get lost or broken?
Ogre68 on E-bay has been selling Mark VII parts recently. A message sent to him may get you what you need.
If you cannot find one, PM me.
That part has appeared on e-bay recently. I do not recall if it sold.
I assume this is the part.
