It has been a busy evening here in central Oklahoma:
- dozen plus damaging tornadoes
- historical rainfall, an estimated foot and counting in some areas, first ever emergency flash flood for area
- tigers on the loose, really

All is okay at my place. But there has been a lot of damage in areas around me and the night is still young.

I, like many in the OKC area, have an in-ground storm cellar. The bad news for some folks, I imagine those in lower lying areas, is that there has been so much rain in the past few days that some cellars are floating up out of the saturated ground.

And, the bad news is that you can expect more of the same. A full fledged winter blizzard is rolling across the western plains from Denver to Wyoming to South and North Dakota. Any time a storm that cold clashes with your southern heat, there will be lots of thunderstorms and tornadoes formed along the southern edge of the blizzard where it meets the humid hot weather.

And, if the weather maps are right, another one is currently flowing south along the Pacific coast to southern California and that one too might turn north along the jetstream and come across central US in a few more days bringing a lot more tornado activity.
