I have a stand alone scroll saw. The blades keep coming out of the holderswhen i try and use it. What am I doing wrong?

Is the blade fully seated (in to) the holder on each end before you tighten the knob?
Are you pulling the bottom holder out when you install the blade or are you trying to see underneath and adjust? It does take some practice to get it back in place when you pull it out (pulling back the spring loaded pin and then getting the alignment pin to actually align!!), but in my opinion it makes it MUCH easier to install the bottom portion of the blade with the holder removed.
Lightly run sand paper over both side on the ends. It gives the surfaces something more to clamp on to.
Hope one or all of those help.
Be well,
Ben

Ben is right on!! Gotta admit having a similar issue as you, Scooter, but a little learning solved the problem.

You also might have the tension set too high. If you have tried the previous and still the blade comes out, back off the tension on the rear handle to see if that helps.

if the above still does not help, rough up the blade ends with some 220 or higher sand paper. I had the same problem even after upgrading the blade clamps but not sense using the sandpaper trick.
