Some thing like this would go great with my new plank chair. It would need a few modifications as I'd like to have it hold my ice tea glass or perhaps a can of diet mountain dew....

I'll have to think about this idea and perhaps make my own version.

I'm like you, it would have to hold ice tea glass.

Might need slightly larger holes for our glasses.

Did I somehow miss the bottom/support/ground spear details?????

No I did not see how it was made either. I'm sure it would not be too hard to come up with somehow to stick it in the ground.

I did a little more digging and found some more pictures.

So I had a scrap of wood laying around after my plank chair project so I figured I make something out of it. It told me it would like to be a table top so I said sure we can do that.

Drew a circle and used the bandsaw to cut it out. Then took to mounting it to the lathe where I tuned it true and gave it a rounded over edge.
Then I started thinking about the process of making holes in it.... I have two typical glasses (plastic type to be used outdoors) and they are very different in size. If I make it to fit the larger then the smaller almost falls through, make it for the smaller and the larger doesn't fit....... So then I'm thinking doing a tapered cut or some other form of alteration to attempt to have a decent fit. I guess the other option would be a can of pop, not that it is going to fit either of the ideas so far. I'm starting to think it is a good thing I have options because other wise this would just be to easy.
So for now I'm thinking what about making this a round flat top and just sit the glasses/cans on it? Makes it a lot simpler and it would work for most any size of bottle/can/glass. Of course a windy day might be a possible blow over/spill but who needs to have every contingency covered?

I'll ponder this over night and see how I feel in the morning. Then I'll start working on how I will make the leg(s) for it.

Not sure why glass size is an issue. I certainly have two glasses the same size here.

How about under the hole, put a piece attached with dowel or a chain so it would fold up? It would stop the glass from falling thru.
