We have discussed resawing with the band saw here many times. Here is a link to David Marks latest news letter on resawing 1/32" veneer from 11 1/2" wide pieces of Quilted Mahogany. Notice in the article he talks about all the things that are required to make the cuts work. This includes skewing the fence to compensate for the blade drift. Some people don't believe blade drift is a fact. David is a master woodworker and I believe what he says. I have sliced 1/32" pieces on the SS band saw consistently after adjusting the fence for for blade drift.

O.K. Do it your way. If it works for you don't change it unless you want more learning. I prefer a single point fence, but....

This article says that a jig can remove any worries about blade drift.

I have never tried it, but you might consider it. Is the effort worth not worrying about drift?

I have not tried it either, but do like the approach. It does not 'eliminate' drift, but is another way to compensate for it.
