computer question

Down at the bottom of the page there is a list of registered users which are online at any given time. Along with those users in faint print are people like Baidu[spider] and Majestic-12[bot], Bing [bot} etc. What is this and what does this represent. If I wanted to send a PM to Majestic-12, how would I do so?

The "bots" are computer programs associated with search engines, like Google or Bing, that gather what is posted on this forum so that it can be searched for on their sites.
