Got away from the homestead and shop for a day at the Swamp (Okefenokee). Picture is kind of bright, but here it is. This is from the tower overlooking part of the swamp, just inside the east entrance (in Folkston).

Watched a gator lunch on a bird. Weather was perfect.

Before anyone thinks I was about to start the annual swamp wildfires, my cigar was not lit.

A photo for your100th post!
The weather looks great.
We don't get much above 60 degrees but rarely below freezing.
Still, it takes a warm day here to get me in shorts.
I applaud your use of white socks with sneakers and shorts.
If you wore sock garters, wingtips and dark dress socks we'd have something to comment about.:D

I dress like that most of the year (except for the hat) and especially when I'm working in the shop. The one real big difference is that my belly hides the belt buckle.

Can some one tell me what the picture is?? As soon as it loaded on my computer the video died!! :D :D

I use to watch the gators in the pond in my backyard until they got to size
(10-12ft) that they thought they should go where they wanted and we had to get a trapper in.

Don't sweat it Ed; it is just a picture of Tony standing on a deck wearing shorts (therefore exposing his white socks) with a terribly bright background, washing out whatever is behind him. No 'gators in the picture.:D

My grandson is the real gator wrestler, he as about 5 or 6 years old when he came trotting home with a gator nearly as long as he was tall. The kid got mad when we wouldn't let him keep it.

Gators are a bother when you out fishing with your brand new guaranteed to catch a mess of fish $6.95 one of a kind baits and the dumb gator now has it stick in his mouth. If the line doesn't break and you can work the gator close to you, you have to make some real interesting decisions on what to do next.

Usually I'm lucky the gator throws the hook when things begin to get interesting. However if the gator comes within 20 feet of me and hasn't broken the line and hook has come free I usually wave goodbye to my brand new guaranteed to catch a mess of fish $6.95 one of a kind baits.

Hi Ed,

I do not live in 'gator country, but I think you are making the right choice.:D

You might remember a little tune, Amos Moses by Country singer Jerry Reed:........Now the folks around south Louisiana
Said Amos was a h*** of a man
He could trap the biggest meanest alligator
And he'd just use one hand
That's all he got left cause an alligator bit it
Left arm gone clear up to the elbow..............
