I don't know whether Bill Mayo is still a regular contributor, but this post is for him. I got a PowerPro upgrade over a year ago, and Bill (on this forum) suggested that I buy what he called "a mini kit", and use my old headstock as sort of a stand alone tool. (He has a large garage full of Shopsmith parts.) For $100 he sold me the mini-kit, and for another $50 he sold me an old headstock case. It's taken me a year to get around to doing everything, but I got it all up and running, and Bill's parts are the best $150 I've spent for awhile. At that time he asked me if I'd post a picture on this forum when I got it up and running. Here's to you, Bill, and thanks!

That is very impressive. I called Bill the other day to check on him and he is busy as always trying to help folks. He doesn't spend as much time in the shop as he once did, but the shop and helping others is his best life therapy he says. I am sure he will appreciate the quality of your workmanship.

He is a great guy, and a great inspiration to me as a problem solver whose advice I take seriously.

I have two pending projects, ok three pending projects that Bill has supplied me parts to complete. Someday soon I too hope to get around to it as you have done so admirably. Good Job! All the salvaged parts we have should be helping make sawdust safely somewhere.

Thanks for the nice picture and words. I have added 6 more Mark Vs to my shop collection since you got your packages. I have both "B" & "C" headstock casing kits set up with all the parts needed for the PowerPro Do-It-Yourself installation. You can install the PowerPro kit in your existing headstock and put the removed parts in this headstock or put the PowerPro upgrade into this headstock so you can have the use of your existing headstock while doing the upgrade.

An added note: I am not longer offering any Shopsmith repair or rebuilding services in my shop for my customers due to the advancement of the Alzheimer. It take me many times longer to accomplish any task. I still get a few minutes several times each day every week where I can accomplish a limited amount of work in my shop. I firmly believe that playing with Shopsmith equipment is what has keep me functioning for as long as I have. I still have a shop full of Shopsmith stuff if anyone is looking for any thing and have available used, reconditioned and new parts and items.
