What is the difference between a 10ER and a MK V quill return spring?

I assume they are the same length.

I assume they are the same thickness.

The width is the same.

The keyhole end is the same.

The bend at the outer end is slightly different.

That bend is easily altered so I think a Mark V spring would work on a 10ER.

That is all what I think but a lot of 10ER guys worry about a replacement. I have never seen anywhere where someone said just use a MK V spring. Yes if the keyhole end is broken off that can be fixed and I have done that.

I have not looked but is the MK V spring available from the mother ship? Maybe that is the issue.

You can buy the spring, BUT you get the whole assembly with it.

Hmm... #59 is the quill housing which is N/A. The spring is actually #40 and is also N/A. The spring housing is #39 and also N/A. But you can buy the two together P/N 521875 for $30.34. That is not too bad if one is desperate and the spring will actually work on a 10ER.

What gap
The quill housing and spring are a sub set of the entire quill assembly. Somebody lost track of details/heirarchy!

I think there is an error in the parts list. If you look at P/N 521875 at the top of the list it says "Quill housing..." It should say "Spring housing..."
