Mystery Add-On

Post by hammerforce »

Hello,

In my recent acquisition of Mark VII with half a Mark V headstock and the Mark VII reversible motor as well as a spare Greenie that had already been pilfered in the past, I also received a pile of add-ons.

All are easily recognizable in the manuals (I have the Mark V and Mark VII parts manual and owners manual), however one remains elusive.

It is quite possible it isn't even for the Shopsmith. If it is, I have seen no mention of it.

Depending on how it mounts, it would work like a jointer, with the knob slowing lowering the indeed 'table' side.

Here are the pictures, any thoughts?

It looks like a jointer-shaper fence for 10ER

Looks like you're right! Never know what surprises you'll find in a box of parts. The seller said it was the router fence...Which was not actually included

I found a reference to it in a pdf file of a Montgomery Ward brochure:

And, anyone interested in getting one, the Mk5 500 fence WILL fit.

And, is MUCH better than the Model 10 one.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.

Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.

Concerning your post #191454 (Jointer Shaper picture). Thanks! I have one and didn't know how to "hook it up." Seems that it goes into the hole in the table. If you have additional suggestions/literature for safe use and installation, please let me know.
