Thanks to the generosity of member Jack Wilson, I am know the proud owner of an Incra Miter 5000 (Shopsmith edition)!

I checked the Incra web site and found the manual for the non-Shopsmith version but didn't see any Shopsmith-specific instructions for the Miter 5000 Shopsmith edition. If anybody knows whether there was a supplement for the Shopsmith edition and is willing to make it available, please contact me.

Bonus: Jack also gifted me a pair of canoe paddles so when I get the Slow Boat to Nowhere finished, I won't need to take on the task of building my own paddles before I get on the water.

Thanks again, Jack!

They say if you want a job done right, do it yourself.

I found the Shopsmith "addendum" for the Miter 5000 on the Incra web site. Here's the link:

http://incra.com/manuals/shopsmith_mite ... dendum.pdf

There's not too much to it. Just a picture and a note to substitute left for right and right for left in the assembly instructions.

Nice acquisition ! I have had one for quite a few years and love it and use it all the time. I have figured out a few things I hope will help. First it has to be stored flat with support for the table allowing for the miter bar. Storing it any other way will ultimately warp the table. The other hint is to replace the table with 3/4 melamine which really stiffens up the whole thing. The original table is pretty flimsy and the aluminum channel they use to hold the table sections together did not hold up to long term use. Hope this helps.
