The farm show, that is. For the six days I was there, I only sold $55. Time to retool and begin building other things.

My plan is, child wooden toys and boxes. Things that uses far less shop space.

How are your turning skills? If you like turning and want some low cost, easy to produce projects, I would recommend one of Nick Cook's DVDs, Turning for Fun and Profit, and/or Turning for Food.

I feel your pain!!! Every year our woodworking club makes toys for tots and we try to sell some at a local craft fair to recoup some of our costs which are well over $400 for the materials. The most significant item is a cradle for a little girl's doll which comes complete with a stuffed bear a mattress and pillow and a blanket. All of the items are handcrafted by by people in our retirement community and the artwork is done by our resident artists. We can't get a donation of $100 for these items. I guess my fellow seniors are just a little strapped to spend the money.
Take a look and you will see what I mean.

As a matter of fact, I have very little turning skills, but I look forward in becoming proficient on the lathe. I have yet to reassemble my "Smithy" since I was busting my backside trying to get enough stock built, for this "complete flop" of a show!

Today was a down day, as I have busting my cajones for over two months. I think I deserve a day or two of just being lazy! Plus, I now have a very active, bald faced hornet nest, just over my wood shop garage doors and I can hardly keep the doors up, because of these flying lil a-holes.

I sprayed them with two cans of Spectracide (at 5 am, this morning) and they seemed to just get Pi$$ed Off instead of dying. So, now I have two more cans and I will spray them again. I want that nest to glow with poison! This nest has been there all summer and the hornets never once bothered me. We were peacefully coexisting. Until now! I swear, there must be 100's of flying lil A-holes, declaring Ji-had on me, for nothing! Maybe they are ISIS Hornets!
