sliding headstock and carriage

my headstock and carriage isn't sliding easy at all I already tried paste wax and 3 in 1 oil any ideas ?

Have you checked the wedges for sawdust buildup? Also, if the wax was not buffed really well, it could cause problems also.

If the way tubes are not straight and parallel to one another, the headstock and carriage will be difficult to move.

In one of the sawdust sessions Nick Engler suggested to align the way tubes. To do this loosen the way tubes and look inside the tubes and locate the welds. Align the welds so they are both up or down. If the tubes have a slight bend, then the bends will be in alignment and things will move easier. (I know that this is true.)
