I'm not in a big rush but I decided I check the status of my powerpro order from July 24 at the Lowe's in Rockford IL. Status is "Currently Out of Stock".

Last time it was 1 month and 5 days for the powerpro.........

I still have to drill the headstock I got from Bill M so it is ready when it does arrive. Might want to polish up the other parts too but like I said I'm not in a rush.

My Lowe's order took just over two months. The on line status did not change until it arrived in the store, at which point I jumped in the car and rushed to the store!

I guess when you save $, the hidden cost is time. Sounds like a good deal, if you don't have a time problem.

When younger and first retired, I used to say "All I got is time". That is repeated only with hesitation these days. A couple months? yes! --- Several years? Hopefully!

It is really strange that these things are taking so long to get. I think Shopsmith needs to rethink their business model if they want to continue to be relevant.

Hang in there, Charlese. I am counting on you to lead me into my nineties. You have almost got me into my eighties now. Just a few more say 10 or 20 or so..

I agree. I do believe they need to rethink their business plan with some concentration on maximizing sales - not sales dollars by increasing the price but sales volume by decreasing the price while maintaining a "reasonable margin of profit".

Corporate America no longer understands the philosophy of break even. If there is no big profit - shut the doors.

If RLF and SS Inc. had that 'American Corporate' attitude the doors would have been shut long before now!

It is easy to spout off here about how things should be done differently.

Far more difficult is to 'continue' with limited resources and a very small customer base. Add the fact that you are competing with past production on E-Bay and Craigslist.

I am not suggesting they change!!

Hang in there, Charlese. I am counting on you to lead me into my nineties. You have almost got me into my eighties now. Just a few more say 10 or 20 or so..

I just finished bandsawing 84 little cars and trucks today and feel real good from that therapy.

My PowerPro upgrade kit took over 3 months last Spring. They told me it was a supplier problem beyond their control. In reality I believe they just don't want to invest in a reasonable inventory of expensive PowerPro parts and count on just in time deliveries. When your supplier is in New Zealand speedy deliveries is just not happening. Could be a sign that the company is really not in good shape financially. I encourage folks to keep reporting these delivery problems because that is the only way we have to cross check what Shopsmith tells us.

FedEx left a door tag for me. It looks like my second powerpro was here today but since I didn't know it was coming I wasn't home to sign for it....

That's OK as they should try again tomorrow and I'll make sure I'm here.

So the wait was 3 months and 6 days (well really 7 but it could have been here today so we will call it 6 days.

I never did get my (Bill Mayo supplied) head stock drilled. Might start on that while waiting on the delivery tomorrow. Might even have it up and running tomorrow depending on when it gets here and how much other stuff I have to do before starting on the assembly.

The excitement has begun.
