the mandrel on my blade is stuck can not get it off any suggestions

Need some more info. Is the mandrel stuck on the shaft of the machine or can you not get the mandrel off the blade. Can you post a pic so we can see which version of the mandrel that you have?

The picture didn't attach, but if it is a standard arbor, threads are LEFT hand.

Your pic did not come through but if you hold the arbor in the same orientation that it would be on the machine and the nut is to the left of the blade then it is a left hand thread, left to tighten and right to loosen. If the nut is to the right of the blade then it is a standard right hand thread that is righty tighty lefty loosey

I almost always leave my arbor on the drive shaft while I take the wrenches to the nut and arbor. That way when the wrench slips the blade doesn't take to the floor. When doing this, I try to squeeze the wrenches together rather than pull them apart.
I think you can tell quicker when going the wrong way too.

Right on, Dusty. That is exactly the way I do it. Squeeze the wrenches weather tightening or loosening although I now have an arbor for each blade. I use the same technique for bits on the router table the hand held routers.

I just put the arbor flats in my vice to hold it.

As far as I know if the blade is 1 1/4 bore, the nut is left hand. I don't think they ever made an arbor for 1 1/4 bore with a right hand thread. I don't even own a 1 1/4 bore blade anymore, all mine are 5/8" several years ago Shopsmith only made a choice of 3 blades, combination, crosscut and plywood. I think they have a few more choices now but they were too limited a few years ago.
I still have 4 or 5 1 1/4" arbors but no blades.

Me too! Glad to know I'm not the only one who mounts/dismounts blades with the arbor mounted to the quill. One of my better investments was buying a second arbor wrench. Makes the job easy.
