Shopsmith Crosscut Sled Question

Post by shydragon »

I have the SS Crosscut Sled, and I was wondering what the (3) threaded holes running in an arc are for? I've gone through the accessories trying to figure out what a person might attach there.

Shopsmith Crosscut Sled

You can do cross cuts at angles other than 90 degrees by relocating the fence.

The pivot is the one hole in the left hand corner of the table. The others are 22.5 degrees, 30 degrees, 36 degrees and 45 degrees.

They actually work quite well. You have to check/adjust for accuracy but you can get there. I use my Wixey

Thanks Dusty,

Yeah, I just read about it on the accessory website. I'm like duh, the answer was right there in plain sight.

I just bought one of those Wixey's today, after seeing Nick using it in one of his videos. I checked my table to the blade with it. I was surprised to see it come up 89.7 degrees. I thought, that wasn't too bad after sitting in storage for 14 years. With the Wixey, hopefully I can get it dead on.

You might try here:

I would suggest that you want the Auxillary Table also:

I bought the Wixey, yesterday at Rockler. The price was 39.95, but I had a 10.00 off coupon.

Woodcraft had it for 34.95

I see Craftsmanstudio has it for 26.95, but mentions buying extra batteries. Mine came with two batteries.

I think they all come with 2 batteries. The Craftsman Studio was just selling extra besides those two. Real problem was the $11 shipping charge.

But wherever you can get one, it's worth the money.
