I have a Shopsmith belt sander mounted on a power stand. The dust collector port points straight down at the stand. I need some way to quickly connect my shop vac or dust collector to the port.

My vacuum hose will not make a sharp enough bend.

I have a dust collector hose that will bit it is very difficult to get on.

Anyone know an easy way to do this?

Are you using the 2 1/2 " hose on the new belt sander dust port? If so you can use a 2 1/2" elbow on the sander. I have to use an elbow on my belt sander even if I use it on the Mk V.

I don't know if its the "new dust port" I bought the sander used. It's definitely 2 1/2 inch. Where can I get the elbow that fits?

Also Lowes or Home Depot. Any place that sells standard fittings for shop vacs should have them.

I looked. At Home Depot and could not find anything.

I know that Lowes has them. You have to look in the area where the shop vacs are and the accessories are there also.

I could not find them on Lowes web site so I went to Lowes and looked for them. No joy. When I asked they claimed they never had anything like that.

So it's order from Shopsmith and wait. I don't have a problem with that. I just hate buying things whe the shipping cost is as much or more than the item I'm buying. I guess I'll have to buy something else in addition to the elbow.
