Belt sander keeps slipping

I have gone through the user's manual and would put on the belt and tighten the drums, but when I turn on the ShopSmith, even at 500rpm, the belt continues to track to the left and eventually slips off the belt sander. Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks,

To get the obvious out of the way, have you tried the tracking adjustment on the side?
If you have, check out this Bill Mayo thread on belt sanders, it might help ....

How do you tension the drums?
The tensioning spring has to be pre loaded according to the manual.
There is a tracking nut on the right side of the frame that controls the positioning (tracking) of the belt. That has to be adjusted to achieve proper tracking providing that the belt tension spring has been adjusted. (first sentence.)

I had to replace the rubber drive sleeve on the drum for mine. It works fine now. The part number for the drive sleeve is 502932.
Also attached is link to the manual from another website:
