I will be making a donation to

And after I do this, the plans for this project will be sent from NC, to PA, free of charge!
So what is it?

Well, by the looks of the picture, I see a seat, a strap going down through the middle column to a "foot pedal" or something that tips the column back up when stepped on. I assume its a toy...
Does it churn butter some how? lol

It looks like a small version of a shave horse to clamp work in the top jaws by stepping on the pedal. Very nice work, by the way.

Definetely some kind of work horse, IMO.
When the top is bent down, the pedal will rise. when some type of fabric, or hide is laid over the board, a downward push on the pedal will stretch the fabric, allowing work on the stretched part.
What I don't understand from this scenario is what can hole down the material in order to allow a stretch.
Extramile is keeping a secret - What path does the belt make on the unseen side of the upright?

Well, so is woodworking sometimes! Like woodworking, the real fun is in the finished project.

Bet ya wouldn't like weaving either!
FWIW, 'boring' begets peace of mind!
Also low external stimulus fosters creativity.
I gotta try them sometime!
