:( :(

I have Mark V 510R system. The system has a GE 3/4HP motor and motor model# is 5KC39NG 202, 3450RPM.

This afternoon, I accidentally knocked of one electrode of motor capacitor when I tried to clean out the dust from headstock. I did research on Shopsmith.com, I found "502086 Motor Capacitor." Can any body tell me that if this is what I need?

Thanks

If you have a "3/4 hp GE motor" you likely have a Mark 5(greenie) than has been upgraded to a 510.

I assume you have a start relay mounted on the rear of the motor along with the capacitor.

The capacitor should have markings on it that specify the working voltage and capacitance(xxx MFD).

If you can, take a pix and post it.

It's 270-300MFD and 125V.

So, can I use 502086 Motor Capacitor?

Thanks

OK, this is ridiculous. Motor start capacitors are all between 225 and 375 MFD. The actual MFD value is not that important. The working voltage is (115 V).

Just get something close and you will be fine. They are not motor specific.

Probably.

When you get one look for those values. Not sure about the voltage only being 125v.

As you can see the capacitance range is great so it really is not critical.

They may be available locally. Got any motor shops?
