I was attempting to remove the drive sleeve when I broke the plastic sleeve on the end. Is this going to cause me problems?

This is a dust shield. I have used a short piece of hose as a replacement. I find it is missing on a few of the Gilmer Drive machines I disassemble. I would believe using some axle grease with out a shield will still work for many years.SConner wrote:I was attempting to remove the drive sleeve when I broke the plastic sleeve on the end.
