I picked up both the 6" and 24" 4R versions of the SPI EZ-View rules. Here are a couple of pictures for you to look at and then we will talk about them a bit.

These I have pictured are called rigid but they also come in a flexible version. I have at present only these two but I found I like them so well that I'm about to order a couple more of the shorter one and perhaps a flex version as well.

If you have young eyes be you old or young almost any rule works well enough. As some of us aged we had to start wearing glasses and well it pretty much goes down hill from there. So when I saw these I thought they looked pretty good with the dark (black) non-glare surface and white graduations. For me and my eyes that works really well and now I almost always pick one of these to do my layout work and measurements. I can't promise that will be true for you but you might want to give it a try.

The model I picked was the 4R, that means that one scale is in 1/8" marks on one scale, across from that 1/16" marks. Flip it over for 1/32" and 1/64" scales. I like this but there are other options as well.

Right now the 6" lists for $5.96 sale price is down to $3.95. The 24" lists at $23.11 but for now it is $14.95. This is from the newest sale flyer from Enco. Price effective until 12/31/15 (if you have the catalog see page 52).

The web site is:

REF:6" rule is ne326-1056, 24" is ne326-1071.

I have an order in the making which I hope to place tomorrow online. I've always been happy with the things I've gotten from them so I give them a thumbs up as well as the rulers.

It looks like I forgot the other fact that might be of use to anyone ordering. They have free shipping on orders over $29 until 12/31/15. The promo code for that is DEC29. I managed to find over $30 worth of stuff I had to have and that included more rules.

I've only used them on my 520 and yes they work just fine in that application. In fact that is a great way to set up the machine when ripping. I have other stainless steel rules but they are getting harder for me to see clearly.

I would think they would work on the other models as well but I have tried. I do have 500 with the old fence and upgraded fence which I could try tomorrow. I do not have a 510 to try them on so sorry I can't tell on that model. I have a 10ER in pieces so I can't try it there either.

That's how I do it! By the way, the link to the Enco site is broken and when I did get there I couldn't find the 24" rule.

Yes it looks like I messed up the link but it is fixed now.

Will check the number of the 24" rule when I get to the shop.

Sorry about that, I normally do check my links but did not this time.

The black ones are definitely more affordable than the satin. You'll have to give us a report on the durability of the finish after you've used them for a while.

What you see in the pictures are the rules that I got in early/mid June so they have 5 months of use on them. So far so good.
