What is your glue of preference, and why?

Tight Bond II and for exterior, Tight Bond III, even though II is water resistant/proof, as long as not submerged. Why, it is readily available here, I dont like the foaming styles, have not ever used the super glues, but they dont have the holding power, never used epoxy on wood that I can remember for wood to wood.

I used to use Tightbond II but when Tightbond III came out is switched. It may be overkill fore some things but this way I only have one gluefor most things.

When I use the II it is usually the colored one since most of my wood when finished is on the darker side.

Yes, that is a nice feature.

I use ALL KINDS of glue.... I love glue! Everything from Liquid Hide Glue to PVA to Polyurethane to Epoxy. I like experimenting. PVA's such as Tightbond I/II/III used to be my main glues, but some of the others I like more and more lately, especially if the wood is oily, or if I want to avoid moisture-swellings when gluing veneers.

nuhobby,
glues can be specific to woods, yes oily exotics can be a problem, but if wiped with DN Alcohol or Naphtha can reduce that, dont work with them so no experience just what I have read.

I use Titebond for most of my applications. I have never use the III, only the original and II. On my boat I use epoxy exclusively. I have tried the Gorilla glue and I am not a fan. I think the main reason is I am just set in my ways and have used Tirebond for so many years.

Never cared for Titebond, had severe shelf life problems.
I use Elmer's Carpenters WoodGlue Max, works for everything I do. It is waterproof.
