Should the serrations on the serrated washers face the feed stop control or face away from it? Thanks. Alec

Hi Alec,
The inner washer (closest to the headstock casting) should be installed rough side facing out (toward the back side of the feed stop dial).
Install the feed stop dial, then...
The outer washer should be installed rough side facing in (toward the front side of the feed stop dial).
Then the locking handle last.
Hope this helps,
Dennis
Great!

I know that you have already resolved this issue but I saw this as an opportunity to refresh a post made by Nick some time ago. I thought this was an excellent tutorial on the Quill Assembly. I hope you find it informative.

So Dusty,
I notice you are getting to old threads on peoples question very fast. Have you built up an indexed dictionary on your system or something? Very impressive Young Dusty!!!:D

He may have done something like that, kd6vpe, but he has mentioned that he prints and catologs threads that interest him. They are probably organized in a way that enables him to quickly "look them up". He can then see the link (which is also printed at the bottem of the page) and post it here.
What ever way you are doing it, it is very helpful and ingenious Dusty!

What I save off and catalog does not come back in the same format; you would know that immediately if you saw it.
I have a dual monitor system which allows me to search and scan the threads without leaving the forum. That is to say, I have the forum on screen all the time that I am browsing elsewhere.
I don't find the search engine very helpful!!! The Titles that folks use on their posts doesn't lend itself to being Searched.
About the only search I use regularly is to search by username. Correction: Username and Post(rather than Thread).
